Merthyr Tydfil has a wealth of outdoor spaces and trails throughout the Borough. The best thing is it’s free to access. Whether you like cycling, geocaching or just walking there are plenty of opportunities and places to explore in Merthyr Tydfil.

Discover Taf Bargoed
Taf Bargoed is a situated In Trelewis. You can explore the beauty and nature of the park by foot; there are three routes available that take in the views of the valley, the lake and the summit Centre. A lovely walk from the main car park in Taf Bargoed Park up to the summit Centre is just over 1 mile making it a great one for young families. A map of the park with its routes can be seen below. The park also has a skate park, outdoor MUGGA and children’s play park.
Discover Cyfarthfa Park
There is a plenty of family fun to be had at Cyfarthfa Park, whether it be playing in the park, hunting for geocaches or walking along the animal trail, there’s lots to discover.
